"What is it you want here anyways, loner?" Kirara knew he hated being called loner," so she put an emphases on the word. "You came back into my territory when you could have easily gone to another clan. All you've been stealing is food. Any clan has that. I know you spy for information, but is that it?" she wanted answers and she wanted them now.

Kovu flinched under his gaze. 'Loner', and she knew, was not his favorite title. "Maybe I'm trying to proove a point." He growled, "Maybe I'm trying to proove I can be in a Clan's territory without destroying everything."

Kirara was slightly interested now. "A point, hmm? I personally know that all loners are not bad," her voice fell away as she had flashbacks of her past. The memories flooded her mind, 'till she remembered she was still pinned down by Kovu.
Kovu was slightly taken aback. Did he just hear her correctly?
"Enough. Forget it. Now let me up!" Her anger returned, but she was slightly off. Maybe that's the reason why she felt something for Kovu. She understood what it was like to be in his place, to have everyone in the clans shun you, and judge you. It hurt. She knew.

Kovu cleared his throat akwardly, then decided he'd question Kirara just like she'd done. And to make sure she didn't leave, he sat on her. Then, with the raise on an eyebrow, "If my suspicions were correct, your mother and/or father was a loner."
Kirara, who was struggling a thrashing underneath him, suddenly stopped. "Wh-what?" she stammered, "What are you t-talking ab-bout?"

Kovu waited for her to stop stuttering. She came to her senses.
"Kovu, I refuse to answer you for my lack of trust. I know you will just run to the other clans spilling my past. But some of them know..." Kirara spoke darkly.

"And so do I. I'm not stupid, Kirara, and I've known your blood was loner blood. I figured it out in the tree as you mocked my of my stupidity." Kovu licked his paws. "You remember, yes?"

Kirara thought for a moment. "You are mistaken Kovu. I was not born a loner. I merely chose to become one." She was spilling to much but she knew that it was best to. If she kept it to herself, she would suffer her whole life. She should be proud of her past.
"I was born in this clan. When I was an apprentice, I met a loner named Scaythe, who was much like you in confidence and stature. At first I thought of him as an enemy as I was told to believe. I went against the rule though, and befriended him. We would play tag and explore territory we weren't supposed to. One day I couldn't find him. There had been sightings of a badger so I thought he had been killed. So I continued to train and put everything behind me."
"One day I was about to be killed by a fox. Even though I was a skilled Hurier, the fox was extremely large and had injured my shoulder. I was close to death. But just as the fox went to make a death blow, Scaythe came to my rescue. He sent the fox running with it's tail between it's legs. I thrilled to see he was alive. I guess it was then I realized how boring my life was without him. I had grown to love him. He told me that we could be together forever, if I truly wanted it. He told me that I could leave the clans and become a loner bound by no laws. I agreed." Kirara was watching all these memories flout past her as she spoke. Kovu had all his attention on her.

Kovu, interested in her past so he could store yet another important secret away, suppressed a laugh at ther desicion. "Oh wow. No offense, Leader of Riberei Clan, but you were really stupid as a little cat. You wanna become me? Almost starving to death everyday, with the clans hunting you down like prey and every cat you see cannot be trusted. Anyour Loner friend, as I hear it, is one of those mangy flea-bags. The devious beasts trick cats into joining the Loner side and then leaving them. As one did to my mother before she had me. she would've starved unless my father woul've showed her the ways of the Loner world."
He bit back his toungue. Stupid! She didn't need to know his past. Kovu was only trying to provoke her to continue, but he couldn't help a memory of betrayal and starvation and floods and the flea-bitten traitor loner flash into his mind. Trying to supress his choked voice, he meowed, "Go...on."

Kirara knew he would try to use this against her but it wouldn't work. She continued. "I left with him to become a loner. He taught me his ways and we were happy for long time. But then something that changed my life in minutes happened. Just as it had been when I thought Scaythe had been killed, there were badgers. I had gone hunting, and when I returned to our hideout... I... I was greeted by a bloody picture. Scaythe had been slaughtered in those few minutes I had left him. He was strong, but badgers are larger..." Her voice shook with grief as these painful memories were relived. She could still remember his bloody, broken body.
"I was completely alone. My love, and my heart had been ripped from me. I began to wish I was dead. I wanted to die. I had nothing to live for, until I remembered my old dreams of becoming leader of Ribarei. I decided I should try to reach them. But of course they wouldn't let me back in. I was shunned by every clan. I was an outcast because of the choice I had made-" her voice broke. "I had no way in. Or so I thought. I had been going for a walk, but as I did I heard a small wail. I went towards the sound. I found a small group of four kits wailing, lost and hungry. I immediately knew that I should bring them to Ribarei. So I did. When I arrived, the camp was in deep distress over the missing kits. They saw me and assumed I had kidnapped them. I finally got them to believe I didn't and they asked how they could repay me. Many of them still shunned me for my decisions. But I asked to rejoin the clan. The leader agreed reluctantly. Many were deeply upset by his decision. But I worked hard. Eventually they forgot about my past and I swiftly rose my way to the top. I became leader and I had something worth living for. I do not regret my leaving with Scaythe, for I had the time of my life with him. I am proud of my past. It shows you hard work pays off, and even though I had many struggles I fallowed my dreams." Kirara finished looking at Kovu. She knew he was thinking what were the best secret he could use, but at the same time he was shocked.
"Kovu, you sadly won't be able to use any of this information against me. If any of the clans wanted to know this story, the could simply ask their elders. They would remember. Now I suggest you get off me. I will let you leave peacefully." Kirara saw a look of questioning in his gaze, at why she had told him this. "I just thought you should know that I've been where you have. I do dislike loners because of their ways to steal my clans food. But I do not despise them as others do."

Kovu's eyes flashed. Not with anger, but with all the painful memories of the past flooding back to him. This Scaythe sounded familier.
Kovu looked away from Kirara, just in case she could infer what he was thinking. He looked at the setting sun on the horizon. All he could say for a moment was, "Yes. Yes."
He stared at the red horizon for a moment. It seemed those memories from his past would haunt him forever, but he didn't think telling Kirara would do him any good.

Kirara noticed Kovu was lost in thought. She took this chance to escape his grasp, but only to sit up and face him. She looked at him calmly, and at a new perspective. This loner is not so bad... he reminds me of Scaythe. In fact he was almost identical to Scaythe, and they had the same personality. She wondered why this could be. Scaythe had been dead for many moons, more than she could count. But it wasn't long enough for his soul to move on a possibly have a reincarnation. No he hadn't been dead long enough. Then why? Could it be that Scaythe was guiding Kovu from within the stars?

Scaythe's picture that Kirara had put in his head seemed oddly familier. Black fur, loner, abandoned by parents... That's when it came to him. Memories from long ago, before he had become a loner. His land on the farm at flooded, and his family had been swept from their houses and into a churning current. He'd thought they'd all died, but if not... THEN SCAYTHE WAS HIS BROTHER!!!!! (OCC: IM SOOOO KEWL )
