Luna herd the commotion coming from outside and decided to see what Kirara was up to. As she walked outside, she saw that that loner was pinning Kirara to the ground and sitting on her aswell. Luna was very confused, so she walked up to them to ask what was going on.

Kirara was yelling, "That's impossible, that's improbable, how can Scaythe be your BROTHER?"
Kove tried to expplain. "He would've survived the flood. If he did, then it's obvious I had a living relative."
Luna walked up. "Hello, Kovu," she snarled silkily, "Is Kirara a nice seat?"
"No, Luna," Kirara replied, "Don't attack Kovu. We're having matters to discuss." She snarled as Kovu's black tail poked he nose.

''Oh, alright.'' Luna was still pretty confused, but did'nt question the matter any further. Luna decided to stay to make sure nothing goes wrong......Luna was also VERY curious on what they were talking about aswell.... so she stayed to listen.

Now sitting up, Kirara addressed her deputy. "Luna would you see to it that patrolling the Icarba border is taken care of?" Kirara did not want to reexplain her past to Luna. This discussion was not for all ears. She did not want Luna to suddenly start asking her questions as she often did. She went through enough reliving it for Kovu.

Kirara an Kovu shared a rar glance, one that meant, "Don't say anything important when she;s around." Almost like they'd just suddenly turned into best pals.
"hmm...Kovu,..." Kirara cleared her throat awkwardly, "So if Scaythe (the big oak) is your brother, than your sister's the pine?"
Kovu, playing along, said, "Oh, no, pine is YOUR sister. Mine is Birch. Ain't your brother Maple?"

Luna stared at them in confusion, but could tell she was not wanted. She left to her duties. "Kovu, I think we should continue this conversation else where. I do not want eaves droppers. It's not the end of the world but..."
"Sure..." Kovu stood up and they walked to a small clearing and sat down.
Luna couldn't shake off the feeling her leader was doing she wasn't supposed.

Kovu and Kirara continued their conversation in a small, dryed-up river bed in the middle of a clumb of thick trees. They'd be able to hear anone who came by this way, and their voices wouldn't travel very far.
"Kirara, describe Scaythe. Did he ever say anything about his childhood?" Kovu started.

They had begun to talk like they had been friends for ever. Kirara didn't mind. "He didn't talk about his child-hood often, that's for sure. But when I did decide to ask about it, his answers where vague, he never wanted to stay on the subject. Eventually I got it out of him that his parents had died, but I didn't know more than that. I knew that it would hurt him to bring up bad memories, so I left him alone. But he never said anything about siblings. I wonder why?" Kiraa became lost in possibilities for this question.

As Luna was now a good distance away from it all, she could'nt help but notice that Kirara was keeping something from her, ''.....I wonder why she would'nt tell me whats on her mind.... she always does..... thats odd..... very odd......''

Kovu pondered Scaythe's actions. "Well, if I were him, I'd never have mentioned siblings either. It would, like you said, bring painful memories. I thought all mine were dead." He tried to picture his relatives, the memory was on the tip of his tongue, but he couldn't grab it, like trying to hold a ray of sunshine. You can feel it, and you know its there, but you can't grasp it.

"I knew better than to push answers. But it does make sense that you are brothers, you act so alike, and look the same. Not that's the best thing," Kirara thought to her self hoping he didn't hear that last part, but he did.
"What do you mean by that?" Kovu asked expectantly.
"Well he was quite the trouble maker at times and since you have his other traits, you will do the same." Kirara chuckled to her-self. Kovu had already proved him-self a worthy troublr maker at the best of times.

"I don't think I'm exactly like him though. He sounds..." Kovu pondered the right word. "like he'd lived better times as a loner. I'd despise anyone who chose to become one, while he tries to find cats who will. And, he was probably dumb enough to put both of you in danger by setting up camp next to a badger hole."
Kovu, without meaning to, hit home. "Scaythe was not dumb!" she snarled, "He was loyal and trustworthy and he loved me."
Kovu picked his teeth with an old bone he'd found in the dried-up river bed. "Whatever you say, Little Miss He-loves-me-he-loves-me-not..."

"And he did not try to gather followers! He wanted me to join him because he was lonely and we loved each other. He did not even ask me to leave I went myself. And he did not despise others, he was kind and helped those in need! You're right. You're nothing like him!" Kirara shouted as she jumped to her feet. "You'll never be like him! So shut that no good mouth of yours before you say something to make me attack!" She ran into the forest, filled with anger and hurt. How dare he disgrace his own flesh and blood! Kirara wanted to get as far away as she could from Kovu.

"Disgrace my flesh and blood?" Kovu dropped the bone and spat. "I never wanted to be a loner, like my brother apparently did. I almost died being a loner! And you know what? I'd rather disgrace my own flesh and blood then proudly be called an outlaw."
And with that, he stalked into the bushes, disappearing. Kirara was startled, but curious. She'd never known about Scaythe's past much either, and with his brother here she might be able to sqeeze out a little more of his, from what he'd been saying, painful past.

The next few days past and Kirara kept her distance from Kovu. But she knew he was watching her. She'd have to confront him at some point.
At sun-high, Kirara went to go hunting as she swiftly jumped through the trees to catch a squirrel, she stopped dead, letting her prey escape. She looked down and saw Kovu muttering to himself. It was a large clearing so no one would be able to hide near by. It wasn't possible. She'd tried. Plus he was talking super quietly like he didn't want anyone but himself to hear it. She thought she saw a starry cat sitting in front of him but then it vanished as soon as it appeared.
